Air Peace announced on Saturday that a scheduled Lagos‑London Gatwick flight was temporarily disrupted after a routine post‑boarding technical inspection identified a minor fault on the aircraft.

The airline’s statement on its X account said the issue was discovered after passengers had boarded, prompting the crew to withdraw the plane from service in accordance with safety protocols. All passengers were safely de‑boarded while engineers addressed the problem.

Air Peace emphasized that passenger safety remains its highest priority and that the decision to suspend the flight, though inconvenient, was necessary. The carrier assured travelers that they were immediately informed of the situation and were provided with hotel accommodation and other support services.

To limit further disruption, the airline arranged for a replacement aircraft to be dispatched from London. Passengers are now expected to depart on the new flight later this morning.

The incident highlights Air Peace’s commitment to safety and operational reliability. The airline thanked passengers for their patience and cooperation, noting that their trust is essential to the carrier’s service standards.

The disrupted flight is part of Air Peace’s regular schedule linking Nigeria’s commercial hub, Lagos, with Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom, a route that serves both business and diaspora travelers. No injuries were reported, and the airline is working to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
