The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has cautioned voters against vote‑buying ahead of the governorship and House of Assembly elections. In a statement issued in Abeokuta and signed by Publicity Secretary Tunde Oladunjoye on Sunday, the party warned the electorate to beware of individuals with ill‑gotten wealth who are “taunting and touting to buy people with money.” The statement emphasized that “our dear Ogun State is not for sale, no matter how they got their wealth or how much they are offering.”
Oladeunjoye highlighted the party’s significant progress in all areas of the economy and the unprecedented milestones achieved over the past three years. The APC urged the people of Ogun State to vote overwhelmingly for the party in Saturday’s elections, expressing gratitude to those who have already supported them. He noted that this support reflects appreciation for the “good and exemplary governance” of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun during his three‑year and nine‑month tenure.
The party argued that the upcoming governorship and state House of Assembly elections should be “the icing on the cake” after the state chose Asiwaju Bola Ahmed as President‑elect. According to the statement, the only way to reap the fruits of the party’s labour and benefit from the Bola Tinubu presidency is to elect Prince Dapo Abiodun and all APC candidates on Saturday.
The APC highlighted several achievements of the Abiodun administration, including the provision of housing estates for the masses—more than all previous governments combined—and the continued payment of minimum wage and other welfare programmes. The statement also praised the Ogun International Agro‑Cargo Airport as a source of envy for other states and as proof that “no height is too great for a creative, prudent and focused government to attain.”
