The Kano State Executive Council has approved the Kano State Anthem Bill 2023 and will forward it to the State House of Assembly for enactment. The council also gave its assent to the State Rural Access Roads Establishment Bill 2022 and the State Roads Funds 2022 Bill, according to State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs Mallam Muhammad Garba, who made the announcement on Sunday.

Garba explained that the anthem celebrates the features for which Kano is renowned, aiming to inspire patriotism, pride, and a renewed appreciation of the founding fathers’ virtuous qualities. He said it seeks to foster both macro‑ and micro‑nationalism, embedding a deep sense of pride in the hearts and minds of the Kano people.

Regarding the Rural Access Roads Establishment Bill (RARA), Garba noted that, once transmitted to the State House of Assembly and possibly signed by the governor, the agency will undertake the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads and water‑crossing hydraulic structures. He emphasized that the RARA and State Roads Funds bills do not duplicate existing road and traffic legislation nor conflict with them. If enacted, the bills are expected to enhance the socio‑economic well‑being of rural residents engaged in agricultural activities.
