Panic swept through New York City’s Penn Station on June 7 after a knife-wielding assailant left six people injured in a brazen stabbing spree. Emergency crews rushed to the scene around 7 p.m. local time following a 911 call reporting multiple stabbings at the transit hub, according to the New York City Fire Department. The victims included one person with serious injuries, two with moderate wounds, and three with minor cuts. Five were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, while a sixth was taken to Cornell Hospital. The suspect was quickly apprehended by authorities, though officials have not released further details about the attack or the individual’s motive. Amtrak Police confirmed they responded to the incident and have launched an investigation. The stabbings unfolded at one of the nation’s busiest transit centers, which sees hundreds of thousands of commuters daily. The violence came just one day before President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mandami were set to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, located directly above Penn Station. Security has been heightened in the area, with strict protocols enforced at the arena in anticipation of the presidential visit. The New York City Police Department has been contacted for comment but has not yet responded.
