The online firebrand known as VeryDarkMan has finally thrown in the towel on the P-Square family drama, announcing his exit from the messy public dispute just as the pressure from netizens reached a boiling point.
For days, the activist had been swimming against the tide, defending Jude Okoye while trying to steer the conversation away from Peter Okoye’s explosive allegations against his twin brother Paul and their elder sibling Jude. But the internet wasn’t having it. A wave of criticism crashed down on him as fans and celebrities alike, both Nigerian and international, lined up behind Peter after he posted what many considered damning evidence online.
The turning point came when Liberian actor Frank Artus released a video aimed squarely at VeryDarkMan, warning him in no uncertain terms to “stay off Okoye’s family.” It was a warning that clearly hit home.
By Sunday evening, VeryDarkMan had made a full U-turn. In a new video, he didn’t just walk away—he also handed out his own slice of blame. He said that if he had to assign responsibility, he would put 40 percent of the fault on Jude for refusing to step down as P-Square’s manager when Peter insisted he no longer wanted him in that role, citing alleged financial mismanagement. He then split the remaining 60 percent between Peter, his wife, and the wider family circle.
“I just want to make one point about this P-Square thing,” he said. “I see a lot of people saying VDM, you are sounding as if Jude did not have a fault in all of this. As if Jude is innocent and Peter is just saying all of this without trigger. Well personally after listening to Jude and Peter, if you ask me who to put the blame on, I will say I will put 40 percent of the blame on Jude, and I put 30 percent of the blame on Peter, and another 30 percent on the wife, the family and everybody.”
He also shrugged off the insults hurled at him, saying, “To the people insulting me, it is not a crime. You can insult people. Now there’s balance in views in the P-Square matter.”
With that, he declared his withdrawal from the saga, adding that he was shifting focus to prepare for a police panel appearance over his separate allegations against AIG Jimoh Moshood.
