Victor Osimhen is set to remain at Galatasaray after the club’s president, Dursun Özbek, declared the striker unavailable for transfer despite sustained interest from Arsenal.
According to Turkish-Football.com, Özbek has informed colleagues that the Nigerian international will not be sold under any circumstances during the current window. The stance effectively ends speculation linking the 27-year-old with a move to the Premier League side, where manager Mikel Arteta has been exploring options to bolster his attacking ranks.
Galatasaray’s resolve has already been tested this summer. The Turkish champions rejected a £111 million offer from Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal earlier in the window, underlining their determination to retain the forward who played a pivotal role in securing the domestic title last season. Osimhen finished that campaign with 22 goals in all competitions.
The player himself has downplayed the transfer talk. After scoring twice against Çorum FK in the opening Süper Lig fixture, including a stoppage-time equaliser that salvaged a point, Osimhen acknowledged that rumours are typical during the window but insisted his focus remains entirely on his responsibilities at Galatasaray.
With the transfer deadline approaching, the club’s firm posture and the player’s public commitment suggest the matter is settled. Osimhen will now look to build on his impressive start to the new campaign as Galatasaray target further silverware.
