Guber polls: Diaspora group advocates voter turnout

As Nigerians will yet again cast votes for the governorship and State House of Assembly elections on Saturday, a Diaspora group has called on Nigerians to come out en masse.

The group, Diaspora Medics For Good Governance (DM4GG), in a statement which was issued by its Directors, Dr. Chukwudi Muojieje, Dr. Kunle Adedeji and four others, encouraged Nigerians to make themselves available for the election despite irregularities in the February 25 presidential and parliamentary elections that generated controversies.

The statement made available to Media Talk Africa in Abuja on Thursday called on voters to vote for candidates that will promote good governance in Nigeria.

The group lamented the widespread irregularities that dotted the presidential election, adding that voters shouldn’t be deterred.

According to them, good governance is a catalyst for a vibrant and healthy society; hence, casting a vote doesn’t only mean performing civic responsibility but a demand for good governance.
