The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and former Atiku Abubakar campaign spokesperson Segun Sowunmi have praised the Independent National Electoral Commission for its handling of the election process in Ogun State. Osinbajo, who voted at Polling Unit 14, Egunrege Ward 1, Ikenne in Ikenne Local Government Area, described the ongoing governorship and state‑assembly elections as “very peaceful and pleasant.” He noted that voters were able to cast their ballots without any problems. Accompanied by his wife, Dolapo, the Vice President arrived at the polling unit around 10:31 am and voted at approximately 10:36 am.
Speaking after casting his vote at Polling Unit 4, Ward 6, Itoko, Abeokuta‑South, Sowunmi expressed his satisfaction with the process so far. He highlighted that accreditation had been “pretty smooth” and that voter turnout was strong. He added that the results are expected to be transmitted to the INEC Result Viewing portal and the portal in Abuja, as advertised. According to Sowunmi, “once the election has been done at the polling unit, people have their expectation on how well the election is to be conducted; at least from what I can see, BVAS is working well, accreditation is ongoing, we have done our part, let those in charge of counting the votes and transmitting the result do their own part.”
