Election: APC’s Yahaya wins Buhari’s state assembly constituency seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Alhaji Nasir Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the House of Assembly election for the Daura constituency in Katsina State.

The INEC Returning Officer, Dr Emmanuel John, announced the result of the election in Daura.

Emmanuel said that Yahaya polled 24,913 votes to emerge the winner.

According to him, Yahaya defeated his main rival, Aliyu Mage of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who polled 12,240 votes.

John said, “Having polled the highest number of votes, I hereby declare Nasir Yahaya as the winner of the election in the Daura constituency for Katsina State House of Assembly.”
