The Enugu State chapter of the Labour Party has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission against any manipulation of the governorship and House of Assembly election results. The party described reports of thuggery and intimidation targeting its agents at local government collation centres as unacceptable and said it would not accept any outcome that does not reflect the votes cast by the electorate on Saturday.

Chief Casmir Agbo, chairman of the Labour Party, issued the warning in a statement on Sunday morning. He expressed concern over widespread reports of result manipulation at local government collation centres across the state, stating, “We are disturbed by the reports of results manipulation at local government areas in the state. LP will resist any attempt to change the people’s will as freely given on 18 March 2023.”

Agbo concluded by urging all parties to adhere to the rules, warning that any attempt to subvert the process will be taken seriously against the commission.
