Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun thanked the people of the state for his victory at the poll, saying that the renewal of his mandate for another four‑year term shows that power belongs to God. Describing his win as “heart‑warming” and “further proof that no man can play God or stop what God has ordained,” Abiodun emphasized that, despite a keenly contested election, his re‑election is a sign of good faith and a vote of confidence in his administration. He pledged that his second term will usher in more democratic benefits and that he will continue to deliver on the All Progressives Congress (APC) manifesto while maintaining the inclusive governance that has characterized his first four years.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, the governor commended the electorate for conducting themselves peacefully during the polls. He also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, the media and other stakeholders for creating an environment that enabled peaceful elections. Abiodun thanked APC party leaders, stalwarts and members in the state for their diligent work toward the party’s victory, assuring them that he will keep the party’s flag flying by delivering good governance across Ogun.
The governor called on the opposition and well‑meaning individuals in the state to join hands with him to elevate Ogun to a higher pedestal. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to equity, fairness and justice, stressing that development projects will be distributed across all four zones and three senatorial districts without favouritism, nepotism or lopsidedness. In his second term, Abiodun pledged to complete several projects aimed at improving living standards and economic prosperity, building on the unprecedented successes already recorded. He promised an inclusive, participatory, transparent, accountable and fair administration that will not develop any part of the state at the expense of another.
