The Lagos State governorship election held on Saturday, 18 March, saw incumbent Governor Babajide San Sanwo‑Olu win a decisive victory. He polled a total of 762,124 votes, defeating fifteen other candidates to retain his seat. The Labour Party’s candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes‑Vivour, secured the second‑highest tally with 312,329 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party’s Olajide Adediran obtained 62,449 votes, placing third. Although Sanwo‑Olu carried 19 of the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs), Rhodes‑Vivour won only one LGA—Amuwo‑Odofin. The complete results for all 20 LGAs were released early on Monday at the Independent National Electoral Commission collation centre in Yaba, Lagos. The state Returning Officer, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, has yet to officially declare Sanwo‑Olu the winner.
