The Governor‑elect of Niger State, Umar Bago, extended a hand of fellowship to his opponents, urging them to join in the development of the state. Speaking during his acceptance speech in Minna on Monday, Bago said the doors of his administration would be open to everyone who wants to move Niger State forward. He also praised his closest rival, Isah Kantigi, for displaying sportsmanship by conceding defeat.

Bago thanked the people of the state for their support, accepted the mandate solemnly, and appealed to his supporters to remain humble, noting that “this is not a time to gloat.” The Senator‑elect for the Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Sani Musa, described the day as memorable, calling the electoral victory a reward for the hard work of party members. He added that the governor‑elect would work to reinvent Niger State and rekindle hope among its residents.
