Steven Gerrard secures new job after Aston Villa sack

Steven Gerrard has taken a job as a television pundit for England’s upcoming matches against Italy and Ukraine.

Gerrard has been out of job since being fired by Aston Villa last October.

In recent months, he has been linked with Leeds United, Trabzonspor and Poland ever since.

The 42-year-old who still retains managerial ambitions, will work for Channel 4 on the broadcaster’s coverage of England’s Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Gerrard will join Jill Scott and Joe Cole in a punditry role while Jules Breach will occupy the presenting hot seat.

Steve Bower will commentate and Kelly Somers will report from pitchside.
