INEC declares PDP’s Kefas Agbu winner of Taraba governorship polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kefas Agbu, winner of the Taraba State governorship election.

Mr Agbu scored 257,926 votes to beat the candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Muhammad Yahaya, who polled 202,277.

The All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Emmanuel Bwacha, scored 142,502 ballots to pick the third position.

The state Returning Officer Prof M.A. Abdulazeez declared Mr Agbu the winner at 12:30 am on Tuesday, after satisfying the requirements of the law.
