Zamfara guber: Police reads riot act to troublemakers, ban jubilation, protest

Zamfara State Police Command, Tuesday, read riot act to supporters of various political parties and consequently banned any forms of jubilation or protest in connection with the just concluded gubernatorial and state House of Assembly polls.

It also stated that it would in partnership with other security agencies deal with acts capable of undermining the peace and security in the state through celebration or protest for or against winners and losers in the polls.

The state command PRO, SP, Mohammad Shehu, who said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Gusau, added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf urged members of the public to be law abiding.

Shehu implored members of the public to shun violent activities and cooperate with the security agencies to protect lives and property of the citizens.
