The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Tuesday, in Abuja, unveiled the National Counterterrorism Centre and a new Office of the National Security Adviser.

The two state-of-the-art facilities are meant to optimise efforts at addressing evolving security challenges in the country, especially terrorism and violent extremism.

Speaking during the unveiling of the facilities, Buhari said they would serve as a major legacy to provide the incoming administration with infrastructure to effectively coordinate national security and counterterrorism efforts.
