Foundation urges women to embrace menstrual hygiene

The Okoroafor Chinaza Ogechi Foundation on Tuesday urged women and girls to embrace menstrual hygiene.

The foundation said this during its sensitisation outreach at the Internally Displaced People camp in Durumi, Abuja, with the theme ‘Education on menstrual hygiene and importance of educating the girl-child.’

The sensitisation outreach which was done in collaboration with the Beauty of Africa International Pageant and Spec Kitchen emphasised the importance of using sanitary pads during menstruation and educating the girl-child.

During the outreach, the foundation distributed sanitary pads, toiletries, and snacks, among others.

The founder, who was also the third runner-up of BAIP and Miss Multinational Nigeria 2023, Chinaza Okoroafor said she is determined to educate women on the importance of hygiene and to create awareness on the need to educate the girl-child.

“The theme of my foundation is value for all women, so we want to show the women and girls love, tell them how important they are, and teach them key things that will help them in their day-to-day activities because women are important in society.
