Abia State Governor-elect, Alex Otti of the Labour Party has pledged to serve Abians judiciously for the next four years.

After days of stalling, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, finally announced Otti winner of the 18 March Governorship election in Abia State on Wednesday.

Reacting to his victory via his official Twitter handle, Otti accepted the trust Abians had bestowed on him to serve them for the next four years.

“With deep humility and a profound sense of responsibility, I wholeheartedly accept your mandate to be your chief servant for the next 4 years”, he tweeted.

INEC said he polled 175,467 votes, while his closest rival, Ahiwe, polled 88,529.

Otti’s victory had led to jubilation across the streets of Umuahia and other parts of the state.
