Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has approved the appointment of Mr Augustine Chilakpu as his Special Adviser on Labour Matters.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the Governor, Oguwike Nwachuku, Chilakpu is the South East Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress and currently an executive member of the NLC in Imo, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
“He has served in different capacities in the NLC, such as former member of the National Executive Council (NLC Federal), former Chairman, Constitutional Review Committee, (NLC Federal), Chairman of many NLC Committees on Negotiations and other industrial relation matters, among others.
“He will be expected to bring to bear in his new office, his many years of experience in the Labour sector in the interest of the people of Imo State.
“Chilakpu hails from Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State and married with children.”
