Murtala Muhammad International Airport’s Bi‑Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), the operator of Terminal 2, has taken comprehensive measures to ensure the safety, security and well‑being of travellers and other stakeholders during the Ramadan fasting period. In a statement congratulating the Muslim ummah on the start of this year’s fast, BASL’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Oluwatosin Onalaja, highlighted several key initiatives.

The terminal now features a newly refurbished prayer room where Muslim travellers can observe quiet time. BASL has also inaugurated a dedicated FRSC Special Marshal Team to manage traffic within and around the terminal. In addition, the aviation security team is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art CCTV surveillance systems that enable rapid detection and neutralisation of potential threats. This technology‑driven approach has led to a significant reduction in theft and extortion at the terminal.

Over its 16 years of operation, Terminal 2 has not experienced any major internal or external security incidents. BASL views the Ramadan season as an opportunity for Muslims to rededicate themselves and reaffirm their faith, and it is committed to keeping the terminal free from any stress‑inducing encumbrances for travellers and customers throughout and after the holy month.
