Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has become the focus of a disciplinary action by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Adamawa. The State Working Committee (SWC) of the party ordered the sack and indefinite suspension of the ward executives of Gwadabawa ward after they attempted to suspend Mustapha.

At a press briefing, Dr. Raymond Chidama, Secretary of the APC, explained that the sanctions stem from the recommendations of the Yola North Executive Committee, which was tasked by the SWC to investigate the unconstitutional conduct of the Gwadabawa ward executive council (EXCO). The EXCO had reportedly suspended Mustapha for allegedly losing his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party during the presidential and governorship elections.

The Adamawa SWC, led by Chief Samaila Tadawus, quickly reversed the ward’s decision, declaring Mustapha’s suspension unconstitutional, null and void. In response, the SWC imposed far‑reaching sanctions: all Gwadabawa ward officials were removed from their positions with immediate effect and placed under indefinite suspension.

Chidama noted that the party also condemned recent unauthorized actions by some executives, such as the suspension of the party’s National Vice Chairman for the North East, Mustapha Salihu, and the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru (Binani). He described these acts as embarrassments to the National Chairman, the President, and the party as a whole.

Consequently, the SWC approved the immediate removal of all Gwadabawa ward EXCO members and the formation of a seven‑member caretaker committee, as recommended by the Yola North Local Government Executive Committee. The former EXCO members were instructed to hand over any party property in their possession to the chairman of Yola North Local Government Area without delay.
