The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu has condoled with the Diya family and Nigerians in general over the demise of the former Chief of General Staff, Lt. General Oladipupo Diya, in early hours of Sunday, March 26.

Adebutu, in a condolence message by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, extolled the “great virtues” of the former Chief of General Staff, Chief of Defence Staff and former Military Governor of Ogun State.

He described General Diya as an illustrious son of Odogbolu, saying he was a courageous administrator par excellence.

He said the late General was a brave military officer, who served the nation and Ogun State diligently.

“His commitment to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole shall not be forgotten as they are indelible in the hearts of the people,” Adebutu noted.

As the PDP candidate thanked God for the “fulfilled life” lived by Diya, he enjoined the family, friends and associates to take solace in the fact that the deceased left good legacies.

While praying for the repose of his soul, Adebutu begged God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
