Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, together with officials from the United Kingdom‑Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (UKNIAF), announced a new partnership aimed at constructing a 4,000‑bed hostel for students of the state university in Keffi Local Government Area. The agreement also includes funded technical assistance for preparing Climate‑Smart Infrastructure Public‑Private Partnership projects across the state.
During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Lafia, Governor Sule expressed optimism that the collaboration would enhance productivity, reduce poverty, and boost the state’s economy. Facilitated by the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA), the partnership operates under a mutual‑accountability framework between the state government and UKNIAF. “By signing this framework, we reaffirm our promise to do things differently,” the governor said. “We will continue to work innovatively, leverage partnerships, and implement essential policy reforms that translate into good governance for everyone in Nasarawa State. I call on all stakeholders to support us so that today’s signing yields tangible benefits as we move toward the Nasarawa of our dreams.”
Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Managing Director of UKNIAF, highlighted five key reforms introduced by Governor Sule’s administration as the catalyst for the public‑private partnership. He praised NASIDA’s efforts in attracting investment and development to the state and pledged continued collaboration on initiatives that will strengthen the economy.
Earlier, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NASIDA, thanked UKNIAF for the partnership and assured that the state will maintain deliberate policies aimed at fostering growth and prosperity for all residents.
