Three members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were killed in an attack that has thrown the community of Obiangwu, in Imo State’s Ngor‑Okpala Local Government Area, into panic. According to an anonymous community source, the victims were ambushed in the early hours of Monday while traveling in a vehicle at Eke‑Isu market. The source said the bodies remained at the scene at the time of reporting and that security operatives had taken control of the area.
The spokesperson for the state police, Henry Okoye, confirmed the deaths of the three NSCDC personnel. He said that security forces had moved into the community and restored normalcy, and he promised to issue a further statement on the incident later.
