Kogi guber: Rep member joins race, picks ADC forms

Member representing Yagba East/West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide has picked the African Democratic Congress, ADC expression of interest and nomination forms to join Kogi State governorship election.

The lawmaker and House Committee Chairman on Customs and Excise purchased the forms on Monday for the party’s office in Abuja, declaring that he would be an aspirant to beat, insisting that the Yoruba speaking part of Kogi West should be allowed to occupy the Lugard House.

The lawmaker who is a Rep-elect, explained that he will vacate the Green Chambers for Kogi State Government House, if he wins the November governorship election, while expressing optimism that the people in other political parties from Kogi West are solidly behind his ambition.

Abejide’s move on Monday added to the number of aspirants from Kogi West which include, Senator Smart Adeyemi representing the Western Senatorial district, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State and the Secretary of the All Progressives Presidential Campaign Council, PCC.

Meanwhile, Media Talk Africa reports that the African Democratic Congress did not win a seat out of the 25 members-elect to the Kogi State House of Assembly in the just concluded governorship and House of Assembly election.
