Championship: Balogun returns to action for QPR after injury layoff

Leon Balogun has made his highly anticipated return for Sky Bet Championship club, Queens Park Rangers after a lengthy injury layoff.

The centre-back has been sidelined since sustaining a calf injury in QPR’s 2-1 home defeat to Huddersfield Town in November 2022.

Balogun featured for 45 minutes in QPR’s Development Squad 2-0 win against Birmingham City.

The Nigeria international took part in the game to ascertain his fitness level.

The 34-year-old is expected to be included in the London club’s squad for the away trip to Wigan Athletic this weekend.

Balogun joined QPR as a free agent last summer after severing ties with Scottish Premier League club, Glasgow Rangers.

The defender has made 12 league appearances for the club with a goal to his name.
