The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured a decisive majority in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, winning 22 of the 31 seats in the March 18 governorship and state assembly elections. This outcome is documented in a list released by Mr. Aliyu Shaba, Deputy Director of Voter Education at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bauchi, on Tuesday. The remaining seats were divided between the All Progressives Congress (APC), which won eight seats, and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), which captured one seat.

According to the INEC results, the PDP won the constituencies of Duguri Gwana (Abdullahi Dan‑Bala), Kirfi (Umar Habibu), Bauchi (Jamilu Dahiri), Zungur Galambi (Yusuf Ahmed), Dass (Abdullahi Ahmed), and Bogoro (Musa Nakwada). Additional PDP victories included Lame Toro (Lawal Garba), Toro Jama’a (Saidu Hamza), Ningi (Abubakar Sulaiman), Ningi Bura (Tanko Bura), Hardawa Misau (Babayo Akuyam), and Dambam Dagauda Jalam (Mohammed Garba). The party also secured Ganjuwa East (Ladan Mohammed), Ganjuwa West (Adamu Kawu), Katagum Zaki (Bello Maiwa), Sakwa Zaki (Wanzam Mohammed), and Itas Gadau (Abdullahi Yusuf). Further PDP wins were recorded in Disina Shira (Hodi Jibir), Shira (Hassan Auwal), Giade (Adamu Abubakar), Madara Chinade (Ala Ahmed), and Gamawa (Sarkin‑Jadori Bello).

The APC’s eight seats came from Azare Madangala Katagum (Saleh Zakariyya), Udubo Gamawa (Lele Mohammed), Pali Alkaleri (Garba Aminu), Darazo (Sulaiman Darazo), Sade Darazo state constituency (Malam Dauda Lawal), Chiroma Misau (Yahaya Maikudi), Lame Toro (Abdul Rishi), and Lere Bula (Abdulrasheed Adamu). The NNPP’s single seat was won by Mubarak Haruna in the Jama’are constituency.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 9th Assembly has no female members.
