Udinese defender, Ehizibue desperate to play for Super Eagles

Udinese defender, Kingsley Ehizibue has expressed his desire to wear the green and white shirt of Nigeria.

Ehizibue, a right-back was born in Germany to Nigerian parents but was raised in the Netherlands.

The 27-year-old has earned one cap for the Netherlands at the U-21 level.

On 3, March 2020, the player was called up for Nigeria’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Sierra Leone.

The match was later postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ehizibue has been overlooked since then but he is determined to represent his fatherland.

“For real, it would be like making a dream come true because I used to watch Nigeria playing in the World Cup, so to wear that jersey was the goal for every kid,” he told Goal.

“So, I will do everything possible to make it happen. I’ve played with guys that represent the national team, in the Netherlands and Germany, and I’m so proud of them.”
