The winner of the inaugural season of the popular reality show *Big Brother Titans*, Makhosazane Twala—known simply as Khosi—said she is still coming to terms with her victory. Declared the champion on Sunday, April 2, 2023, Khosi, a South African journalist and model, walked away $100,000 richer. Yet, during a press conference, she admitted that the reality of winning “has not dawned on me.” She recounted how, that morning at her hotel, strangers tried to take photos with her, a surprise she “is not used to.”
When asked whether she would share the prize money with her fellow contestants, Khosi responded with a joke, prompting cheers from the former housemates present. She also clarified the nature of her relationships inside the house. Regarding her bond with fellow South African housemate Thabang, she emphasized that it was genuine and not a game: “I did not play Kanaga (Jnr). Our relationship was genuine. I don’t know if the viewers saw it, but we had some really deep conversations.” She expressed admiration for Nigerian housemate Yemi Cregx, noting, “I really liked him even though it was not the perfect situation. He always lifted me up whenever I was down. The day he left the show, I felt really bad. I felt like I would be stuck in the house with people who didn’t like me, because he was the one person I trusted to give me good advice sometimes. However, I had to remind myself that I am a strong and independent woman.”
Khosi reflected on the personal lessons the show taught her. When asked about her greatest strengths and weaknesses, she identified impatience and self‑doubt as major flaws, especially while serving as “head of house,” when she felt “not worthy of it.” She added that the house presented constant obstacles, mirroring real life: “Things might not always go one’s way, but one has to pull oneself up and face the challenges.” As for her strengths, she said she can “always put on a strong face,” waking up each morning with a big smile despite inner struggles. Looking ahead, she intends to apply this resilience beyond the house, stating, “I need to know that I’m worthy of whatever opportunity I get. I have been crowned by Africa.”
