Former Liverpool star, Jamie Carragher has hailed Todd Boehly for sacking Graham Potter, saying he got this particular decision right.
Todd Boehly, following a series of poor results, including last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, decided to sack Potter.
Potter left the club 11th in the table, having won just 12 of his 31 games in charge of the Blues.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher, a former Premier League star, among other things, said the relationship between Chelsea and Potter was never going to work.
He said the real reason Potter was sacked is simply because the club’s supporters have for the last 20 years been brought up on a culture of winning trophies.
He said they are also used to changing managers and hiring Champions League winning managers.
“So they’re chanting at Graham Potter” ‘You don’t know what you’re doing!’ That’s one of the reasons why he’s gone.
“The appointment was wrong straight away. I’ve been very critical of Todd Boehly but I think this is the first decision he’s got right,” he said.
