The Sokoto State Government has assured employees who have not yet received their February salaries that payment will be made tomorrow (Thursday). The government also confirmed that the March salaries will be paid on the same day.

State Commissioner of Finance Dr. Ali Inname made these statements today while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting. He rejected claims that more than 10,000 staff members are still awaiting February salaries, calling such reports “false, malicious and misleading.” According to Inname, out of the 33,320 civil servants in the state, only 1,054 have not received their February pay.

Inname explained that the slight delay was caused by challenges faced by some banks processing a portion of the payroll. He disclosed that a total of 1,059 staff members were affected. The commissioner assured that these banking issues have now been resolved and that all outstanding payments will be completed within the next twenty‑four hours.
