EPL: Take £70m, allow him go – Glenn John tells Chelsea to let midfielder leave

Chelsea have been told to accept Bayern Munich’s £70million for Mason Mount and allow the England international go.

A former Premier League star, Glenn Johnson believes that the midfielder has not been the same since Thomas Tuchel left the club.

Former Chelsea star Johnson is of the opinion that the midfielder would be a brilliant signing for Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich.

The midfielder was out of favour under sacked manager Graham Potter at Stamford Bridge and is currently in a stand-off with the club over a new deal.

The England international will see his contract expire at the end of the 2023/24 season

He has already rejected Chelsea’s last offer, which he deemed too low.

“Mason Mount would be brilliant at Bayern – Chelsea should accept £70m for him,” Johnson told DAZN.

‘I actually think he would be brilliant at Bayern. He hasn’t had that same impact since[Tuchel left Chelsea].

“Chelsea should take £70m because he hasn’t been the same as Mason Mount and Chelsea may need to take the money after all their signings.”
