Chairman of the National Population Commission, Nasir Kwarra, announced that the Commission will commence building numbering and household listing on April 17, ahead of the census. State Director Alhaji Sa’eed Yusuf made the statement in Ilorin on Wednesday, noting that the listing is an integral part of the census and will last five days, after which a further training session will be held.

Yusuf explained that enumerators and supervisors will receive five days of training between April 25 and April 30 in their respective Local Government Areas to ensure the exercise’s success. The training originally scheduled for March 31 was postponed due to logistical challenges; it has now been rescheduled for April 11 and will run for seven days.

The actual enumeration of people and housing will begin on May 2 and conclude on May 7, with May 1 designated as Census Eve. Data Quality Managers, responsible for overseeing data, servers, and Personal Digital Assistants, were trained on April 3 and 4. Additionally, a Special Work Force training for assistants to the data managers took place from April 5 to April 7.
