Ganduje chased us out of APC and we chased him out of Kano politics – Abdulmumin Jibrin

A spokesperson of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, presidential campaign council, Abdulmumin Jibrin, said many chieftains of the APC in Kano State who Governor Abdullahi Ganduje chased out of the party have now taught him a political lesson of his life.

Recall that in the buildup to the 2023 general elections, many APC chieftains had dumped the party for the NNPP.

The NNPP had defeated the ruling APC during the March 18 governorship election in the state after winning most of the federal and state legislative seats.

Mr Jibrin, who is a House of Representatives member-elect under the NNPP, stated this during an interview on Channel TV’s current affairs programme: ‘Politics Today’.

He said: “There is always that affinity, and longtime relationship with the national leader of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who actually headhunted me into politics.

“On the other hand, we weren’t wanted in the APC, the governor doesn’t want a lot of us in the APC, so he practically ensured that he pushed us away.

“He (Ganduje) was fighting us and he made sure we got nothing, we couldn’t breathe in the APC.

“We went back and got ourselves together and taught him the political lesson of his life.

“And at the end of the day, he caused the APC 18 House of Representatives members, including about six or seven super members that the country has invested a lot in.

“He caused the APC 34 State Assembly members, and I can tell you largely that some of those lawmakers are quality lawmakers.”

Speaking on the composition of the 10th National Assembly, Mr Jibrin urged the APC to adopt the 1999 template by zoning the Senate presidency to the South East and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the North-West geopolitical regions.
