Osimhen credits Gattuso, Spalletti for his development

Victor Osimhen has praised Gennaro Gattuso and Luciano for his growth as a player.

Former Napoli manager, Gennaro Gattuso masterminded Osimhen’s signing from Ligue 1 club, Lille, in 2020.

Gattuso fought hard to bring the Nigeria international to Naples despite the huge price tag placed on him by Lille.

Osimhen has also grown to become one of the best strikers in the world under Spalletti, who took over from Gattuso last season.

“I owe a lot to Gennaro Gattuso because he worked on my motivation and on enhancing my self-esteem, but with Spalletti, my growth has been greater due to work done over the months,” he said, as cited by Tutto Napoli.

The 24-year-old has scored 25 goals and recorded two assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.
