The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has appointed four new District Heads and elevated six others to a higher rank, according to a statement released on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Emir, Abubakar Kofar‑Na’isa. The appointments were made on the basis of each individual’s merit and contribution to society.
The newly appointed District Heads are: Alhaji Nura Sunusi as Dan Darman Kano, Alhaji Sarki Hamidu Bayero as Barayan Kano, Alhaji Sayyadi Muhammad Yola as Fagacin Kano, and Alhaji Bello Idi as Kaigaman Kano.
The District Heads who were promoted to new ranks include: Malam Umar Sunusi‑Bunun Kano, who became Dan Makwayyon Kano; Malam Ibrahim Hamza Bayero, who moved from Dan Madamin Kano to Dan Ruwatan Kano; and Malam Lamido Abubakar Bayero, who became Bunun Kano. Additional promotions are Alhaji Aminu Ahmad Sadiq, advancing from Zamnan Kano to Dan Madanin Kano; Alhaji Magaji‑Galadima, advancing from Kachallan Kano to Magayakin Kano; and Alhaji Bello Habibu Dankadai, advancing from Fagacin Kano to Katikan Kano.
Emir Bayero urged the newly appointed chiefs to serve as exemplary ambassadors of the state and emirate, to perform their duties with honesty and trust, and to act with the utmost reverence for Allah.
