Delta State Police Command has assured residents that security will be adequate before, during, and after the Easter celebrations, deploying a massive personnel presence across the state. While felicitating Deltans on the occasion, Commissioner of Police CP Ari Mohammed Ali pledged that “the celebration will be hitch‑free, as modalities have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and crime‑free celebration.”
A statement from the police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed that the commissioner ordered a large deployment of officers to provide security throughout Easter and beyond, “to protect all residents and ensure the success of the activities planned for the celebration.” The CP directed all Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical Commanders to station personnel at every celebration venue and resort centre, aiming to deter mischief‑makers, prevent mayhem, and ensure proper supervision of deployed officers.
In addition to staff from Area Commands and Divisions, officers were drawn from specialized units, including Dragon Patrol, Safer Highways, Quick Response Squad, Rapid Response Squad, Eagle‑Net Special Squad, Crack Squad, Special Anti‑Kidnapping Squad, and Cyber Crime Squad. The CP urged the public to remain law‑abiding and continue supporting the police in the fight against crime, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to security, law and order, and the protection of life and property.
