The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), described Hajiya Rabi Dantata, the wife of renowned Kano‑based businessman Aminu Dantata, as a simple and compassionate woman with a passion for serving others. In a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari said, “Her simple and compassionate life was an inspiration to all those around her.”

According to a family source, Mrs. Dantata died on Saturday at a hospital in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after battling a prolonged, undisclosed illness. In a statement titled “President Buhari joins Kano community mourning Hajiya Rabi Dantata,” the President expressed his condolences to the Dantata family, noting that she “had a passion for service to the people” and was “a celebrated philanthropist who loved to share all that she had.” He prayed that Allah would accept her good deeds and give strength to Alhaji Aminu to bear the loss.
