The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress welcomed the filing of a petition by Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate Oladipupo Adebutu. Adebutu submitted his petition on Thursday, challenging the outcome of the March 18 poll at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Abeokuta.
In a statement released on Sunday, APC Publicity Secretary Tunde Oladunjoye said, “Now that Mr. Adebutu has seen reason and decided to toe the path of civility and honour as we advised him, we hope that he will desist from his antics of cheap blackmail, sponsored protests, incitements, false claims and propaganda.” He added that the party had taken note of Adebutu’s claims when he filed the petition and warned, “He should not intimidate or stampede the tribunal with his unethical boasts as if the honourable justices are pliable or in his pockets.”
