The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has refuted a viral social‑media claim that it is recruiting through a fraudulent “EFCC Recruitment 2023/2024” application portal dated April 7, 2023. In a statement posted on the Commission’s website on Monday, the EFCC warned that scammers have not only created a fake portal but also provided a link for applicants and urged users to “share to other WhatsApp groups to help others.”
The fraudsters further attempted to lend credibility to their scheme by appending “career” to the Commission’s official web address, producing the URL www.efcc.gov.ng/career. The EFCC emphasized that this manipulation is intended to mislead the public and that any such postings are entirely false.
The Commission clarified that it is not currently recruiting and that all legitimate information about its activities, including job openings, is available only on its official website, www.efcc.gov.ng. It urged the public to remain vigilant and not be deceived by these counterfeit recruitment notices.
