The Zamfara State Police Command announced that its operatives repelled an attack by gunmen suspected to be bandits in Tsafe Local Government Area. The statement was made on Sunday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Shehu. According to the report, two suspected bandits were killed, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

State Commissioner of Police Kolo Yusuf praised the resilience of the joint police and military forces deployed to curb armed bandits and other criminal elements in the state. He called on the public to strengthen and maintain their partnership with security agencies to restore lasting peace and security.

The commissioner’s commendation followed a fierce confrontation in a community within Tsafe LGA, where an attempted bandit attack was thwarted, two suspects were neutralised, and the remaining assailants escaped with possible injuries. Yusuf reassured the public of the police’s continued commitment to the campaign against the resurgence of banditry and urged community members to collaborate effectively with all security agencies to ensure the success of operations across the state.
