The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that the three officers seen assaulting an unidentified man in a viral video have been identified and arrested. The Force’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced this on his Twitter account while responding to a tweet about the incident on Monday evening.

The original tweet shared a video showing a police officer beating and slapping a man in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with the caption: “A family man being assaulted in front of his wife by police, this is sad @policeNg.” Adejobi replied, stating, “These men have been arrested, and their commander will personally bring them to the Force Headquarters tomorrow, Tuesday, for further action. They are three in number, attached to RRS, Rivers State. Their action does not portray the police in a good light at all.”

Earlier, the Force PRO had condemned the officers’ conduct, describing it as unfortunate and unprofessional. He emphasized, “I have asked the Rivers State Command to fish them out. This is un‑police, unethical, and condemned. Whatever the man may have done, he does not deserve this beating. Beating him like a baby? A grown‑up man? We will surely get the men.”
