A group operating under the aegis of APC Voice of Progressive Youths from the North West zone has declared its support for Senator Sani Musa (Niger East Senatorial District) as a candidate for Senate President of the 10th National Assembly. The Zonal Coordinator, Sulaiman Mashi, made the announcement at a news conference in Kano on Wednesday, stating that the group chose Senator Musa because he is the most qualified person to lead the Senate under the APC.

Mashi praised Senator Musa as “competent, trustworthy and reliable,” adding that he is a successful politician and businessman, well‑educated, a great administrator and a skillful human‑resource manager. He noted that the senator’s performance in the 9th Assembly is “unquestionable and unquantifiable,” highlighting his active and vibrant role, including sponsoring bills and demonstrating the diplomatic skills needed of a true democrat.

According to the group, Senator Musa is well respected among his Senate colleagues and maintains good relationships with them. Mashi expressed confidence that, as Senate President, Musa would use his diplomatic and democratic abilities to foster synergy and harmony between the Senate and the Executive.

Describing Senator Musa as dedicated and hardworking, Mashi said he collaborated with other APC stakeholders in Niger State to secure the party’s victory in the recently concluded general election. He called on the APC leadership and stakeholders to allocate the Senate Presidency to the North Central zone, enabling the senator to become the next Senate President in the 10th National Assembly.

Mashi recalled that Senator Musa contested for the APC national chairmanship at the 2022 national convention but, out of loyalty to the party, stepped down to allow a consensus candidate to emerge. He emphasized that such sacrifice and selflessness are rare, deserving applause, appreciation, and reward.
