UCL: Wesley Sneijder blasts two Chelsea stars after defeat to Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid midfielder, Wesley Sneijder, has hit out at two Chelsea players, Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana, for their performances during the Blues’ Champions League quarter-final first-leg 2-0 defeat to Los Blancos on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid defeated Chelsea in the Champions League tie at the Santiago Bernabeu, thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio.

But Sneijder was not impressed with Cucurella and Fofana’s display during the encounter in Spain.

The former Netherlands international said that Cucurella “had no idea” of what to do against Real Madrid while he called Fofana a “waste of money.”

“Who brings in a guy [Cucurella] like that? There are a few more like that running around,” Sneijder said (via Sport Witness).

“That Wesley Fofana, too, recruited for €80million that really is a waste of money. Maybe the pressure is too high at such a big club.”
