UEFA Conference League: Moffi up for POTW, GOTW awards

Super Eagles forward, Terem Moffi has been recognised for his superlative display in OGC Nice’s 2-2 draw against Swiss club, OGC Nice on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old was on target twice in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final first-leg encounter.

UEFA has now nominated Moffi for the Player of the Week and Goal of the Week awards.

The Nigerian’s second strike of the night, a spectacular overhead kick, which will certainly go for the Goal of the Competition contender, is among the four nominated for the Goal of the Week.

Majeed Ashimeru (Anderlecht), Hugo Cuypers (KAA Gent) and Jonathan Ikone (Fiorentina) are the other players nominated for the individual prize.

Moffi will battle Basel’s Zeki Amdouni, Fiorentina defender, Nikola Milenković and KAA Gent’s Alessio Castro-Montes for the Player of the Week award.
