We’re ready for hitch-free supplementary election – Kebbi Police

The Kebbi State Police Command on Friday said it is ready for the Saturday supplementary election.

Media Talk Africa recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the Kebbi governorship election inconclusive over massive cancellation and overvoting in 20 out of the 21 local government areas of the state.

The police spokesman in the state, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, in a statement on Friday, said the police and other sister agencies are fully on ground to provide a conducive atmosphere for free, fair and credible elections in 20 local government areas of the state.

According to him, the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Lawal Abubakar Daura, had warned all officers to be civil and mindful of their conduct in conformity with the human rights of the peace-loving people of Kebbi State.

Daura further urged senior police officers to ensure adequate security coverage in all the affected polling units and collation centres.
The CP directed the enforcement of the restriction on vehicular movement during the hours of the election.
