EPL: Not good enough – Lampard slams Chelsea stars after 2-1 defeat to Brighton

Frank Lampard has slammed Chelsea players after their latest defeat at the hands of Brighton.

Lampard watched helplessly as his team fell 2-1 in front of Stamford Bridge supporters and was quick to admit that his boys ‘were not good enough’.

It was his first game at home since he returned to his old club as a temporary replacement for Graham Potter, who was sacked a couple of weeks ago.

Cornor Gallagher scored for the home team after just 13 minutes but Brighton levelled through Danny Welbeck’s header shortly before half-time and Julio Enciso ensured the visitors left with all three points, with a brilliant long-range strike in the second half.

“This is my first home game on my return so there is no way I would do that. But the result is what it is,” Lampard told Match of the Day.

“But for me the level today wasn’t good enough. I don’t like what I saw today.

“There should be a feeling when you play for Chelsea of pride involved. It’s Chelsea football club, it’s bigger than all of us.”
