German pundit Florian Plettenberg recently claimed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will definitely join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the summer. Transfer‑market expert Fabrizio Romano, however, has clarified that Bayern have not yet begun any concrete negotiations for a new striker ahead of the summer window. According to Romano, Osimhen’s situation will not be confirmed until the end of the current campaign.
Osimken has been in scintillating form for Napoli this season, scoring 25 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions. His contributions have helped Spalletti’s side sit 14 points clear at the top of the Serie A table and reach the Champions League last eight. Consequently, it is unsurprising that top European clubs are showing strong interest in the Nigerian forward. While many believe he will leave Napoli at season’s end—Manchester United being a possible destination—Bayern Munich are also rumored to be interested, given their clear need for a top centre‑forward after Robert Lewandowski’s departure.
In an interview with Caughtoffside, Romano emphasized that Osimhen’s future will be decided at the end of the season. “Bayern are just exploring the striker market; it’s not time for concrete negotiations yet,” he said. “Victor Osimhen’s situation will be clarified at the end of the season, not now for sure. They don’t even know how much money is needed for Osimhen, as there’s no clear price tag from Napoli yet, so it’s too early now.”
Osimhen has two years left on his contract with Napoli, the club he joined from Lille in 2020.
