Eld-el-Fitri : FRSC assures Badagry residents of safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has assured residents of the Badagry coastal town in Lagos State of safety during and after the Eld-el-fitri celebration.

Mr Sulaiman Taiwo, the Unit Commander, FRSC Badagry, gave the assurance in an interview with NAN on Wednesday in Badagry.

According to the commander, the command will start an Eld-el-fitri patrol on Thursday because the festival will be held from Friday to Monday, the following week.

“The operation is tagged ‘Operation Orange Impact’ ; this is to control traffic throughout Lagos State, including Badagry during the festival.

“Our personnel will be on Orange jackets, controlling traffic at some spotted or marked areas that used to cause traffic.

“We have marked some areas in Badagry from Roundabout to Sawmill area, where construction workers are working, to Aradagun and Mowo bus stop, where commercial buses park indiscriminately to pick their passengers.

“Our personnel will be on ground throughout the holidays to make the roads free.

“Apart from Orange Impact, we also have Operation Calming Down of vehicles,” he said.

On Operation Calming Down, Taiwo said that what informed the modality was because most motorists plying Agbara-Badagry expressway were always on high speed.

“We are putting our personnel in some areas at the expressway, to calm down motorists, in order to reduce their speed during the holidays.

“Apart from this, our men have been deployed to motor parks, Mosques and Churches to sensitise them to the menace of speed and reckless driving.
